2026 Fall Cheer Program

Arete athletics registration is live- and new for Fall 2026. We have transitioned to Arbiter Sports for our registration and athletics website. Please be proactive in registering for fall athletics. It helps us to measure interest, number of teams, staffing, and facilities. Use the following link to learn all about our new process and to complete your athlete’s fall 2026 registration.

Please be proactive about getting your Sports Physical from your family doctor, an urgent care, or CVS type clinic. A physical dated 3/1/26 or more recent is acceptable for fall sports 2026.

REgister for fall cheer

Our vision is to have a Varsity squad comprised of high school students (grades 9-12) who will cheer for our Boys Varsity Football Team, while the JV squad will be made up of middle school students (grades 6-8) cheering for our middle school boys' [tackle] football team.

The allocation of squad members will be based on participation rates, and we are open to promoting middle school students to the Varsity squad if additional support is needed in high school. We believe this structure will enhance our cheerleading program and foster a strong sense of teamwork and school spirit!

Squad Divisions & Uniforms

Squads

We are excited to work towards establishing JV and Varsity squads for both Football and Basketball seasons.

Uniforms

Transitioning away from ATHLETE-OWNED uniforms

Unless you wish to own your uniform, participants will no longer be required to purchase their uniforms (top or skirt). The uniform style from past seasons will now be designated as the JV squad uniform, and we will be purchasing a new style of uniform for the Varsity squad to use during the season.

We are working with a new vendor that has significantly reduced the cost of uniforms, and we are able to allocate funds from camp participation this summer to purchasing a new style of uniforms for the varsity squad, and additional JV uniforms if needed. Please note that any JV uniforms that need to be ordered will be a similar style to existing uniforms with minor variations.

What about cheerleaders who own the now JV style uniform, but will now be on varsity?

We are asking that any returning cheerleaders who will now be on varsity or retiring cheerleaders either loan their old uniform to incoming JV cheerleaders or donate their uniform to the school for future squad use.

New Varsity Uniforms

We will have a sizing event during the second week of camp for the new varsity uniforms. Date and time may be outside of scheduled camp hours, and will be communicated on our Band app feed.

New training Format

This season, we will be implementing a more defined structure for our practice schedule and game days.

This season, we will be implementing a more defined structure for our practice schedule and game days. We all thrive on structure, and having a clear outline for practices along with well-defined expectations will help facilitate smoother learning and development. This approach will also create more opportunities for overall fun.

Practice will be extended to 2 hours, and currently, we are looking at having practice Monday-Wednesday every week during the football season. Time of practice will be determined based on a majority consensus of participants and their parents.

Our biggest goal for this year is to be as prepared as possible for game days, pep rallies, and other public performances. Working in advance and practicing at home will be key measures in ensuring we are able to have fun and perform at maximum capability at each performance. A practice outline will be provided on the Band prior to the beginning of each week to accommodate our squads' areas of opportunity and upcoming game needs.

DEVELOPMENT PLAN

STRENGTH TRAINING AND STUNTING

Over the past couple of cheer seasons, it has been noted that dances and cheers are not the primary motivators for squad membersʼ engagement. Therefore, we will dedicate a significant portion of the new extended practice schedule to strength training. This will help promote proper lifting and stunting execution, as well as introduce advanced stunts and transitions.

GYMNASTICS

Alongside strength training, gymnastics is a crucial component of cheerleading. Regardless of your starting point this season, we are committed to helping everyone improve their gymnastics skills within their comfort zone.

LEVEL UP

The overall goal of prioritizing these areas is to advance the development of our cheer program to a level where we can not only perform at games but also compete in our own competitions. While we will not be entering any competitions this season, we see this year as a crucial building phase for the seasons to come.

SAFETY

By concentrating on strength, we aim to reduce the chances of injury while enhancing our abilities. When stunts are performed safely and correctly, cheerleading becomes exponentially more enjoyable.
